The communities of Bellevue and Hillcrest jointly present Bellecrest Days on the weekend in June which most closely coincides with the anniversary of the Hillcrest Mine Disaster of June 19, 1914. Celebrations alternate between the two communities; the 2012 event was in Bellevue while the 2013 event will be in Hillcrest. You can expect a pancake breakfast, parade, kids’ carnival and hot dogs and burgers at this small-town community event. Come join us!
This family-focused weekend is a great opportunity to explore the heritage of the entire Crowsnest Pass. Community events are free, and all of the major heritage attractions are open. You can check the Bellecrest Community Association website (external site) for more details on Bellecrest Days.
